Hi,
My Kenmore electric dryer drum spins but will not heat. I took the element to the store and all the fuses, power supply, and thermostat are functioning properly. The breaker is getting 220 volts. I was wondering if the timer is bad because it won't shut off or move in either the auto setting or timed dry. Could this be the problem? IF so can someone send me info on how to fix it?
I greatly appreciate any help.
Thank you,
Christy

Here is a tech sheet https://www.servicematters.com/d...0Sheet%20-%203979101.pdfCheck it against your machine as I am not sure that it is the same as your unit. If it is the same then it should help you troubleshoot the problem. Try different settings re: timed, auto, temp settings. If you can get heat on one of these then it may help narrow it down. Run the diagnostics. Since you say the high limit thermostat, the thermal cutoff and the heater are all OK. All that is left is the control board, the thermistor or the centrifugal switch (out of the 3 this is the least likely) |
