KitchenAid washer fills and drains, but will not agitate or spin. A clicking noise is heard along with the motor. Can you guesstimate the cost of repair in Northern California?

Shall I call a repairperson, or shall I bite the dollars and buy a new washer?

On our Kitchenaid model KAW5700GQ0 (last number is the color), the motor would run, water would fill and drain, yet the agitator would not spin. We turned over the machine, and found small broken plastic pieces on the ground, as well as a flat, round rubber ring with six holes in it. On the parts list is "coupling, motor and isolation" part 13, item # 3364003. Cost $20, and $8 shipping to Utah. Comes with three pieces: two white plastic triangular things with three prongs each, one atop each corner - as well as a flat, round rubber ring with six holes in it. Unbolted the old broken pieces remaining on the motor base, installed the new ones - and it works very well now! (Too bad the replacement was only available in plastic.....)

If it was made with steel, I would have no living. Tom ApplianceEducator.com - Parts
