I just bought a house with brand new appliances. At first, the dishwasher wouldn't drain at all, which turned out to be because the genius that installed it didn't knock out the drain hose plug into the garbage disposal. We fixed that, and on a test run of just a light wash heard water moving and draining so I assumed everything was fine. Just ran the first real cycle last night, and after about 20 minutes I stopped hearing water running and just heard a high pitched whine for the rest of the cycle. When it stopped, the "Hi Temp Wash" and "Heat Dry" lights were flashing, rather than the "Clean" light being on as I assume would be normal. I'm left with a mostly dry dishwasher, dirty dishes, and a huge clump of detergent in the bottom of the dishwasher. I cleaned out the detergent, made sure the overfill protector could float freely, and tried again... same result. I assume that the overfill protector is not reporting properly. What can I do? I should mention that the house was vacant for a while and I assume the appliances are out of warranty since when I tried to register them on the Frigidaire website some of the serial numbers were not valid (including the dishwasher).
