Symptom-- Machine fails to drain every couple weeks. get code f04 and code sud. I open the drain pump and find pennies, dimes (bt the looks of the coins, they have been in there a long time), chunks of plastic and remove them. Try a spin cycle and the machine does not drain. I watch the pump and see and hear the impeller blade spinning. I check the exhaust hose and it seems to be clear. By the way, there are no suds in the machine when I get the code.
1. Is it possible that the drain pump and motor is bad even though I can hear it and see it spin?
2. How can I get into the place where additional coins might be hiding? (Hope I find enuff to fix the machine!)
3. What makes that ball (in the drain hose) float and keeps the water from coming out of the machine.
Any advice direction would be appreciated!
nh:confused:

If there is water to the pump and the output clear of stuff, I would replace the pump AP3953640 This pump is an improved version of your old pump.

Replaced pump. Machine has been working fine. No error codes. Drains. So, even though I saw the pump spinnining, it had to be replaced. lesson 2, when you tilt the machine 45 degrees, the weight of the tub moves the tub away from the pump and it is difficult to connect the drain pipe, so I had to use a clamp to bring the tub closer to the pump. I still can't figure out how to check for more debris in the machine. The pump was almost 1/2 price from the quote from the repair guy. I paid for the shipping 1 up from the cheapest ($6?) and I receieved my parts in 20 hours!!! Amazing. Replacintg the pump is an easy repair.
