I Just Received A New Pump And Motor Assembly (part No. Ap3778061) And The Opening For The Thermistor Is To Large To Reattach The Existing Thermistor.
Has There Been A Design Change? Do I Need A New Thermistor (if So What Is The Part No.) - Or- Did I Receive The Wrong Part?

Please be advised that the pump & motor assembly has been redesigned. If you purchase a new pump/motor assembly, you will also need to purchase a new thermister.

This is the pump and motor for your model ( AP3778061), it has the smaller dime sized hole for the thermistor. The pump you probably received ( AP3866332) looks the same, but the hole for the now thermistor and optical water sensor is the size of a quarter. You need to order the pump for your model as the new one will physically fit, but the new thermistor will not connect electrically to the control board.

I did order part no. AP3778061 and the packing slip indicates that was the part number that they shipped to me. Is the part number stamped on the Pump/motor assembly somewhere so I can check and see if they shipped me the correct part?
As you correctly point out, the thermister opening in my old pump/motor assembly was about the size of a dime while the new pump/motor assembly has an opening about the size of a quarter.

There isn't a number anywhere that I am aware of, but I know there were plenty of pumps that found there way into the wrong box. The fact your thermistor doesn't fit indicates you have the wrong part. Time to return it and get yourself the correct part.
