Whirlpool dryer barely warm, dries too slowly.

Even on high heat cycle, clothes are warm, but not warm enough, as is air stream barely warm. Problem seems to be getting worse with each load dried. Takes 1 1/2 hours to dry a load on high heat. Help!

the first thing i would check would be the exhaust vent,make sure there is good air flow inside the vent hose..Check outside to see how the air is flowing out of the vent....post your findings

Usually the top of the dryer will get hot if it has poor air flow. If ok, I would look for a burnt wire somwere, probably on the heater housing.
