Hi. My refrigerator starting only cooling my food here and there. I noticed that it will run only maybe once or twice throughout the day. I was told it was a defrost timer. My friend replaced the defrost timer yesterday for me and now the fridge won't work at all. The only thing running is the interior light. I cannot even shop and find myself eating canned goods. I don't know what to do at all now. thanks so much!! Right now, it hasn't come back on since we changed the timer.

I cannot find any info on the given model number please check it.
I tried here and the Frigidaire site.

I would not have said your original problem was a defrost problem.
If the evaporator coils are heavily iced/frosted over due to a defrost problem the unit will run all the time trying to get the unit down to the set point temperatures, It will not be able to get to set point as no air can be pulled through the evaporator coils to cool it properly.

First double check the the defrost timer was installed properly.
Then try to see if it will start by turning the defrost timer cam.

Your original problem soulds more like a thermostat problem but it could be other things.

Thank you. The refrigerator did not run all the time but only about once a day. There wasn't any frost collected from what I can see. I have a friend going to look at it for me tomorrow...I will definately share your email...it's frustrating trying to figure out what's wrong and my knowledge is very limited on appliances.
Thanks so very much!
