 I hope someone has an idea...please help! My thermostat is set to the warmest setting, however, food keeps freezing--the bottom and back of fridge seems to freeze the most. Also, no water is coming from the door dispenser nor is ice being made so I am presuming water line is frozen. The fridge is a GE Profile Side by Side, Artica, model #PSS25MGMBWW. Thanks to all.

I'm sure it's a little late for you, but the damper assembly breaks in the Artica models. It's located on the back wall in the refrigerator compartment at the top, just to the left of the water filter. Lots of dissasembly is required to remove it. The individual parts are not made available to repair it, so you will have to replace the entire unit.

It appears that many people have experienced the same issue with the water line in the refrigerator door freezing up so I did some searching & discovered there is a relatively simple way to thaw the line & a neat trick to prevent it from happening again.
First, you have to turn the freezer temp up to a warmer setting (mine is set at 2 & everything has continued to stay properly frozen). It'll take about an hour for the line to thaw.
Once the line has thawed, you can insert a thin plastic cord, approximately 6 inches long, into the water line from the outside dispenser opening. The plastic cord I used was that of a piece of weedeater cord (obviously new/unused cord!). It must be slightly thinner in diameter than the water line as to allow it to slide in and out without forcing it and also to allow water to flow freely. Leave the cord inside the line with a small amount left sticking out so that when the line freezes again you only have to manipulate the cord to break up the ice that has formed.
I actually found that I didn't need to leave the cord in the line though, because once I raised the freezer temperature it didn't freeze up again. Apparently, this occurs because GE didn't layer enough insulation on the inside of door where the water/ice dispenser is located. As a result, the freezer's temperature infiltrates the door thus causing the water line to freeze.
It's unfortunate that one has to resort to "rigging" their water dispenser considering these refrigerators aren't cheap. And if anyone has had the pleasure of trying to get GE to fix THEIR design flaw you know it's pointless! Needless to say, I am NOT impressed with their products at all! My GE over-range microwave just stopped working about 8 mos after I bought it, so I called for them to send out a service tech. The tech told me it would cost me more to repair it than it would to buy a new one! And to add insult to injury he charged me a RIDICULOUS service fee for his 5 minutes of "work" (literally 5 minutes!). After a lot of poison-pen letters & lots of phone calls, they eventually decided to not charge me. Bottom line: GE is NOT what it used to be!!!

Isn't your oven range microwave covered under a one year warranty???
