Hello,
I have an electric Maytag Neptune Dryer that will not start. About two weeks ago, the start button no longer got the dryer going. The light inside the dryer still turns on, but nothing else.
A couple of days ago I opened up the dryer to test the fuses for the heater and the motor. From what I could tell, everything read fine and none of the fuses were blown. After this, I assumed that the motor was shot. I put everything back together, plugged it in, and hit the start button. TADA! I did nothing and now it worked again... I was able to do 5-6 loads of clothes and now it stopped starting again.
For the brief time that the dryer worked again, I could set the timer and actually hear it tick. Now that it is not working again, the timer does not tick. So...I'm guessing it's the timer. Can anyone confirm this?
Also, I previously replaced the rollers inside the dryer so I have been in there before. It's possible I knocked something loose or reconnected something...dunno.
Thanks, Pat

Okay...so I just rechecked the fuses and the one on the motor is reading 2.1 --- which I believe is bad.

I flipped the breaker a couple times and it works again...WTF? What would be causing these issues?
