I have a kenmore 80s gas dryer. When you start it, it ignites and gets hot. But then when it tries to reignite it wont. The dryer keeps goin but it doesn't get hot air. So it takes 2 or 3 cycles to dry. If you open and close the dryer the flame will come back on for about 5 minutes and then goes back out.
