I have a 30 year old KitchenAid model KCS100 that has served me well...other than some screws working loose. My current problem seems to be another loose screw. The front drawer will not open. It appears that the latch is not releasing - as if some bracket is loose. Is there some way that I can get this open to check out my theory ?
Thanks,
Bill

I had a similar problem with mine. I had to pull it out from the cabinet, and take the sides off. I found my wife had placed a spray can of deodorant in the compartment at the front of the door. The can was blocking the lever which attaches to the handle to open the door.
Mine is 30 years old also, and it has been a champ!
