I have a Maytag Washer model: LAT9206BAM

A couple months back, while washing a load, my Mother heard a loud unusual noise. Not the typical uneven load noise. I’m thinking the unbalanced load shut off switch didn’t shut down the spin cycle allowing it to snip violently fast while unbalanced. I attribute that partially to a soft floor that the washer is setting on allowing it to bounce around. Does that sound reasonable? (The floor is getting fixed too)

Secondly, I’m not sure if that violent spinning may have caused a seal to go or what caused an oil leak. The drive pulley and bearing have a lot of oil on it. (I’ll try to attach photo) The oil that sprayed around the base of the washer is typical clear light brown in color. However, the oil that has collected in the pulley is black.

Is it the transmission seals leaking? Is there any way to get around buying a $60 lip seal tool to remove the old seals? Please advise me of everything I should replace as long as I have it torn down so I can get the parts ordered.

I have access to the service manual # 16010373 that Gene posted in another thread. Unfortunately, it’s not for my unit, could you post a link to my manual Model LAT9206BAM or are the replacement procedures still the same?

I ordered my seals. While waiting on the seals, I repaired the soft floor and put the washer back together to use until the parts come in. The washer still moved while spinning. I also noticed the tub immediately starts to spin while the tub is draining.
What's the problem?
Any suggestions?
