I have a whirlpool rbd245pdb8 electric double oven, which lately has been working intermittently. The screen would turn off altogether and the oven has been beeping every now and then.
The screen showed an error code of E6 F2 and after searching I cant find this error specific to my model. Can someone please help? I am turning off the breaker now for about a half hour to reboot this thing like a computer.
Thanks in advance

isn't that the way it goes. they give all the codes, but not the one you have. believe me, i see it all the time. if the control board is going out. i would bet that would be the problem. there isn't another part that will make it do that, just sitting there. so, from what you gave me here, i would replace the clock control board. that is a good model #, but there are a few numbers after that, for me to tell you what you part # is tom applianceeducator.com - parts

Here is your parts breakdown Model RBD245PDB8Here is a tech sheet for a PDB10. It should be close to yours, it does give an E6 F2 error. https://www.servicematters.com/d...0Sheet%20-%204451887.pdfCould try the below but due to the other symptoms you see Kayakcrzy is probably correct on needing a new control board. RIBBON CABLE CLEANING Unplug the unit Open it up Remove the ribbon cable from the keypad to the control board at the control board. Clean the edge connector. If it is the type where there is not a connector just the insulation is removed, it can be cleaned with a pencil eraser. Do not use an ink eraser as it is too abrasive. Check the tracks in the ribbon cable for hairline cracks. A magnifying glass helps here. Would not hurt to clean the connector on the board. Use electronics contact cleaner or isopropyl alcohol and a tooth brush. Be gentle and do not reconnect till all the solvent evaporates. Reconnect everything and give it a try. |
