The Bosch gas free standing convection range(purchased 2 yrs old) has an oven that is not working, nor does the convection fan spin. The broiler(upper element) works as does the
range top and display.
The igniter does not glow
What could the possibilities be?

I have the exact same problem that started last night (7/13/08)
we have had this range/oven (and had it in use) for just 2 years. Everything seemed to be normal, until last night when the oven would not ignite.
I opened up thebottom panel and saw that the igniter come on, so I figure the burner must be workin now. Screwed the panel back in place and tried again, still nothing. Opened it up again, and now it's not lighting at all.
the broiler works for now still..and the stove top are working as well.

I have a Bosch freestanding LP range HG5232UC and it can't be more than 2 years old either.... and my oven just stopped working about a week ago. The broiler still works, and all the burners still work, but the lower heating thing doesn't. Also, I have never used the convection option and just discovered while trouble-shooting that it doesn't work either. I did take that bottom panel off, but was too chicken to try to turn it on while the panel was off.

well, after looking up the cost of the heating element, and how it doesn't seem to be easily repaired by myself, I just kept it on Roasting...about 2 hours later, I hear the flame coming on, so I realize the heating element still works...somewhat.
What I tried next, while not conventional, it is worth the while: I changed the setting to Self-Cleaning, and let the oven run through the cycle. This is the second or third time we used this function sinced we bought the oven...after the cleaning is done, it seem to be working fine...for now at least...so I am guessing there might be some dirt that got on somewhere to prevent everything from working properly, and the self-cleaning burnt it off...not sure why it works to be honest, just my guess

Hello again.

I thought about the cleaning idea too, but it didn't work for me. Where did you look up the cost of the heating element? I am having trouble researching parts because my model number keeps getting rejected.

ok...but do try to keep it on for a while, as it took sometime before the heating element kicked in prior to the cleaning...about 2 hours..

We got one used and of course have been having trouble. We don't have the manual. Does anyone know where I can find one? The Bosch website doesn't have it. I can't seem to find it on Google.

One example is that one burner is flaming like a torch.
