Water stopped going to the icemaker, so we replaced the water valve. Now, water won't stop flowing into the icemaker. I just tried turning the water to the fridge on then off again and now the fridge is making a loud whirring sound. I unplugged it, but the sound continues!

It is possible that the icemaker was stuck in the fill cycle, and all you would need to replace is the motor module. I am not sure what the whirling noise is, but you must plug in the refrigerator, and locate it. Tom
