I have read other posts about the fill tube freezing and the answer seems to be to replace the solenoid water valve. I did replace the valve and hooked everything back up and the next morning there was ice all over the top and splattered around the ice maker. I witnessed a fill cycle and it would appear that the water is coming out of the fill tube too fast. I closed the valve on the water tap and then opened it 1/2 turn.

I am waiting for a fill cycle again to see if this fixed the problem. Is there anything I missed? Any other recommendations?

What kind of ice maker is in the fridge? Does it have the green LED and the arm under the ice maker or the wire arm is on the side?

It is the GE ice maker that came with the refrig. It is about 8 years old. The ice maker has the wire arm; does not have an on/off switch or paddle.

Remove the front cover from the ice maker and look for a water level adjusting screw on top portion of the head. Move this screw a 1/2 turn CW to decrease water filling time. Do not move it more than 300° or you will break it.

Thanks for the advice. It appears to be working as intended now.

I am having problem with the frozen water tube. Today woke up with frozen water falls on inside of freezer. My ice maker is the one with green light and paddle underneath. Would to much water pressure in house be problem. It builds up after showers or washing machine in use? Kenmore side by side.
