If worried about lint in the house take a pair of pantyhose, put one leg into the other and attach this to the dryer's exhaust. Leave enough room behind the unit so it can blow out like a windsock. This will also let you monitor the exhaust velocity and temperature. If it dries OK then you just have a vent problem.
