My refrigerator started making a clicking noise this past weekend and noticed that it is no longer working. I had a Sears repair man come out and tell me that it appears to be the control board. I am wondering if this part is covered under the original warranty. Model: GSS25SGRESS Serial: MG270531 purchased: 12/05

No it is not. But it would take you about 15 minutes to replace it yourself. Tom

Denman, those GE compressors seem to be fine. I just replaced a Motherboard again for the same symptom, this afternoon. Everything comes through the motherboard. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

Check all of the capacitors to ensure they are all flat on the top and shiny. Also check to ensure the fan and coils are clean and free from dust when you are done with the repairs. Capacitors are polarity sensitive
