I have a built-in-the-wall caloric ultramatic original to our house (built in 1964 or 1965). Over the last few days, the clock/timer will not stay on off, but starts over and rings after about an hour. This is annoying during the night, let me tell you! HELP!

Such clock/timer is no longer available. The only way to stop this annoying noise is to disconnect the power to the clock, but you would not be able to use timed bake and/or self clean.

Gene. Thanks! That's what we figured. The thermostat knob is on so tight, I'm afraid I'll break it trying to take it off to access the clock. Do we just pull like hell? Can the gas stay on? I know the power needs to be off. Our oven has NEVER done timed bake or self clean anyway!

Try to pull it as hard as possible, but be very careful not to break the glass.

Gene. My hubbie and son took it apart and disabled the clock/timer! Success! Now I can sleep-thanks for your help!
