Hello:

Sparks came out of behind the mica sheet. A hole was burned in the top of it where it touched the stainless steel of the microwave wall. Even the stainless steel is burned black. A humming sound occurs when the microwave is turned on...it does not heat. The halogen lights work.

1. What needs to be replaced to fix it?

2. Is it worth it?

3. What caused it?...What can we do to prevent it from happening again?
