hi, i have a kenmore front loading washer that makes a LOUD growling noise,like a bad bearing when it is in the spin cycle.the model# is 417 40042990any help would be good.i'm afraid to use it since the noise is so loud!!thanks,dennis

You should fix this before the motor/ motor drive electronics fails due to the increased friction load.
First, make sure there are no spin basket spider failure identified by a thumping noise when you spin the basket, if so=new washer time.
Go to www.applianceaid.com for info on replacing the tub, cost $192 plus $50 nshipping, part AP2578105
If you are good at mechanical repair, go to my article, "replacing Neptune bearings", much of the procedure is the same for Frigidaire.
You can get the replacement bearings at a auto supply store, and the seal at this parts site. Good luck, at least a 3 hour job.
