While in the process of cooking, surface unit/units will come on without being turned on. the only way to turn them off is to turn off the breaker at breaker box. I'd appreciate your help. thanks in advance.

I want to thank you for a speedy response and accurate solution. My appliance was on a recall list. I called Frigidaire and scheduled repair.
