Gas dryer heats and tumbles for 15 minutes. Timer is advancing. It shuts down competely(no spin). Can't restart right away but can if I wait. Will replacing thermstat help or is the motor going?

Probably due to a lint build up, inside the dryer cabinet and motor, it's probably too late, but sometimes you can clean the lint out and off the motor and you'll be OK for a while, A proper model number, off the production plate would have made us more efficient and helpful. Thanks, :) :) :)
