Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 7/12/2009(UTC) Posts: 6		I have an Estate washer Model # TAWX700JQ1, that will fill with water and do nothing else. When the control knob is engaged there is a clicking sound which appears to be coming from inside the control panel a little to the left of the control knob. Also there is a faint humming sound either at the same point as the clicking or a little to the left. Capacitor? I have received some much needed help from this forum in the past and hope to get some advise on the current problem. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Bill

Rank: Advanced Member Groups: Senior Expert Joined: 3/29/2009(UTC) Posts: 11,699		Move the control knob to drain and see if the machine will drain. If not, check the lid switch. If so, check the coupling. It can be the capacitor but those things rarely are the problem.

Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 7/12/2009(UTC) Posts: 6		I finally got back on this project and removed the the control panel. The clicking and humming is coming from the timer. I checked the lid switch and it works mechanically and is secured soundly to the cabinet. The clicking noise is similar to that of a stripped plastic gear/cog. There is no movement visible to the outer casing of the timer. Replace the timer?
