Hi. New here and trying to repair my Maytag washing machine rather than buy a new one. In short, here's the situation: - Agitator stopped turning in any cycle (wash or spin) - Pulled front cover off - Found a broken belt for large pulley on floor under washing - Replaced belt but the large pulley won't turn; Belt is burning on motor pulley and won't turn large pulley - I can turn the large pulley counter-clockwise by hand easily - Turning the large pulley clockwise turns the agitator
It seems as though there's not enough tension on the drive belt for what I think is the transmission drive.
Any troubleshooting suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Most likely you had to replace both belts. Then you can adjust belt tension by moving the drain pump. The instructions are attached to the reply. Make sure the motor goes freely on the mounting plate. Otherwise replace the rollers. - The pump belt Part number: AP4024902
