The door over the detergent dispenser doesn't open during the wash cycle. How can I test the dispenser to see if it is at fault? It could also be a bad timer, right?
We moved into this house 3 years ago and I don't know the age of the dishwasher.

Here is the tech sheet

Check the actuator resistance.
Check the wires to it for continuity.

If above is good, check if it will open when you actuate it manually.

If all the above is OK then it is probably the control board.

You could double check this by hooking it to a line cord to see if it will open when power is applied. If it opens then you know for sure that it is the control board.
