So here I am fixing this Maytag washer again.
This time the motor stalls (hums only) after it fills with water. Looks like I can get it going again with a kick and and a wiggle to the motor. I took the motor switch apart and it looks like the contacts on the start circuit are prettly badly pitted and worn. I don't see on the website where I can buy just the switch. Is it available????? Could it be somthing else.
I have the second transmission in this machine and every now and then it really howels.
This might be it for me. I'll buy a new machine before I buy a motor.
Thanks

I think you plan to buy a new machine is the best bet, as I do not think the switch is a separate repair part and given your troubles in the past a new machine seems the way to go.

It's been working since I cleaned the contacts.

Great, usually when that happens you cannot rehabilitate them, but glad you were able to.
Thanks for the update.
