The fan noise from my Kitchen Aid Range, model no. kgsk901sss01 has become increasingly loud. It has always been annoying from day one but now is to the point that being in the kitchen while the oven is on is horrible. The noise, which I am assuming is a fan, immediately starts when the oven is started and runs for quite awhile after the oven is turned off. From what I have read, this is more than likely the blower, your part part no. AP3851090. Before purchasing the part, I want to be sure this is the issue and inquire as to how difficult it is to replace myself. I am pretty handy with tools and not too intimidated with stuff like this. I would rather not request a service call as I have already spent enough in repairs on this range so am hoping I can do this myself.
Thanks so much for your help! :)

Does sound like a fan problem.

I usually do not mess with gas units but this is closer to just an electrical/mechanical problem.

I think the following will be a close match to your unit.
Whirlpool KAC-42 KA M-Line Slide-In Freestanding Gas Range Service Manual - ApplianceDigest.com

You may have to join the site to download the manual but it is free and this is a very good site for manuals and other info for the appliance repair DIYer.

You could pull the fan and then hook it up yo a line cord to confirm that it is toast.

Remember to unplug the unit when working on it. You would be surprised how many folks forget this and end up having to replace control boards.

Hi Keith, I'm new to this site but am having the same problem with my JennAir ww30430P oven. Did a new fan do the trick for you?
