I have a Gaggenau convection oven. The conventional heating elements work, however when the oven in on convection I cannot get proper heating. Any idea as to why or how to fix this. Would it be difficult for me to fix it? The fan works, but there is not a significant amount of heat. :(

I had a similar failure some months ago and was told by the local Gaggenau repair person that the heating element is no longer available. I have spent some time searching but have not found a replacement element. If you discover one, please let me know - candewish@yahoo.comps - from the exploded parts view provided by the gaggenau site, I believe the part we need is # 097855. I have no idea what is involved in a DIY repair - it only took the service person 15 minutes to diagnose the failure. PPS - a few weeks later I found a video on replacement of the convection oven element, found the element, ordered it and in about one hour replaced it. If you are handy and want more info, let me know at the above address. Dec. 6, 2007

Hi, The following will produce several google hits - how to repair convection oven One of the hits is - Video:**How to change a fan oven element and fan motor | eHow.com1) to diagnose the problem, there is usually a grill in the back of the oven that covers the heating element. Removing it allows inspection of the element. Mine was obviously burned out. There are several sites that can be used to find replacement elements. Ask if you have problems. 2) I can give you a step-by-step sequence if you decide to repair yourself. I would have used a repair company but those I tried were too brain damaged to find a part. It took me about two hours of work to make the repair, but there was some careful planning to get the built in oven out in order to do the repair (and get it back in!). But hey, it's working now!!!!! 3) I believe Gaggenau and Bosch ovens are similar. Good luck ...

Hello: The oven quit heating, but broiler works. I read your thread and I need to know how to replace the heating element, part number 097855, on my EE676-604 oven by gaffenau. You said it took the repair person 15 minutes to diganois the problem. Can you explain to me what he did or how he did it without taking apart the oven to get to the part and take meassurments on the element. What or how did he do the diagnosis? and how to put in the part if I need to replace the bad one. Did you replace any thermal fuses for the heating elements? Thanks for your information, ths3@comcast.net Steven Originally Posted by: candewish I had a similar failure some months ago and was told by the local Gaggenau repair person that the heating element is no longer available.
