I just replaced a 43-year old Frigidaire double wall oven after it repeatedly tripped the breaker. After resetting the breaker, power continued to the oven, but lower oven did not heat at all, and upper oven did not heat to desired temperature.

I assumed the problem was the oven itself, and ordered a new Kenmore that was installed two days ago. During installation, the installer noted it appeared that there had been a short in the wiring connections inside the junction box behind the oven. He clipped the old wires and make new connections.

After installation, and during the first operation of both ovens, the breaker tripped while both upper and lower ovens while both were set to 350 at the same time. This did not happen right away but about 10 minutes after starting while both were heating. The installer thought the dedicated circuit breaker for the oven needed to be replaced, but did not have one with him. He said we could operate one oven at a time prior to replacing the breaker. However, when I tried to run just the upper oven, it did not appear to reach 350 default temperature.

Does this sound like a problem with the dedicated circuit breaker for the oven? I bought a replacement breaker but have not installed it yet.:confused:

Replacing the circuit breaker seems to have solved the problem....thanks.:)
