The top rack doesn't get clean. I ran it with the door open partially with the switch engaged. Everytime I checked, there was no water or spinning going on with the top and middle spin arms. Me and the floor got a nice shower. Water level adequate but experimented adding more water just in case. Even unnecessarily cleaned the filter where the water enters the dishwasher. Even though I got wet everytime I opened the door I would have expected more water pressure. It hardly reached the top but did deflect out in my face with an uncomfortable force. The large screen in the bottom is clean. The housing under the screen was clean. I removed the 3 torx screws in the bottom and found a small white plastic ball which appears to direct water up the upper tube or the bottom spray arm, depending on impeller rotation direction. No plugs in the tube up to the top or the arms. I removed the motor and the impeller is clean and without damage. Could the motor be weak enough to only send water to the lower arm? But yet it always comes out the bottom. Is there some control switch preventing the motor from reversing for top cycles? When I set the control to top rack only, it still only comes out the bottom. I removed our water softener to take to our new house and this problem started. Any possible connection? Boy I hope not cause it ain't coming back.

I realize now that the top does spin. I previously just checked only at the beginning of the cycle. I can hear the motor switch direction and finally caught it in action. It is rather weak but no frame of reference to base that on. It spins about once a second with just a stream of water, not a "spray". Maybe its just the water softener change but that doesn't account for the food particles left on the top rack, does it? The sound of the machine running sounds as strong as ever ie. no noticeable weak water pressure sound from the outside. (My ears get full of water when my head is inside) Seems like its gotta be a weak motor or low water. Motor seemed smooth with no play when I had it out. Water level good. This load just ended and came out clean, hmmm... did I fix something? The only other thing is that when I pulled the motor from the impeller housing, the 2 halves of housing connected to the motor didn't line up correctly with each other but that might have occurred during removal. I wonder if there's anyway for that housing to get forced into the wrong alignment during operation. I never had it out before and it used to clean fine. Guess I'll see what the next load brings.
