I live a new condo community (townhome style). I have 11 neighbors. The 12 units were completed in fall 2008 and all of the units came with the same GE Profile dishwasher. Me and at least four other neighbors have the same problem. The dishes on the top rack are clean, spotless and great! The dishes on the bottom rack are not clean. Some of the dishes wil be clean and others are still totally dirty...almost like they were washed by two different diswashers! The silverware is iffy, too. Some pieces are clean and others are not. It doesn't matter if you use the silverware separator to give each piece some space, or just pile them into the baskets willy-nilly. Some are clean and others are dirty. We all also find some of the detergent still in the detergent cup. Some days it's worse than others. And, when the problem first started happening (it didn't happen right away for us), I heard a knocking sound on the right side of the dishwasher. I opened it up at those times and did NOT see the spray arm being obstructed in any way. So I closed it up and let it continue the cycle. We have all tried different detergents, and we've all coped so far by (a) wishing we had a different dishwasher and (b) filling the bottom rack only half full. (We can pile stuff on the top rack and they always come out clean.) I had an appliance repair man look at everything and he found nothing wrong. He supposedly checked out the filters and all the connections, etc (I wasn't here at the time.) One of my neighbors used to work for a builder and said that they often put in such cheap appliances (cheaper than can be found at even discount stores), that it's no surprise these are all duds. I, however, an a tenacious person and I think this can be fixed! So, can anyone help me fix it??? Thanks! Heidi

Anyone have any suggestions? The fact that we are having BOTTOM rack problems seems different from the majority of people here who report having problems getting dishes on their TOP rack clean.
Thanks.
