The dryer runs without stopping in a timed cycle. The timer when activated can be heard ticking. do I need to replace the timer or the relay or the stop guard? could someone advise?

no, the timer does not advance - but you can hear it "ticking" the dryer stops when you open the door the dryer starts when you close the door AND press the start button
Still need to know whether I may need a timer, relay, or Finish guard or some combination
please and thank you
