our 1 week old fridge stopped cooling (and with all those tasty leftovers in it!)
well, it works a little; freezer is at 31 degrees and fridge is at 57 degrees.
everything seems to be working, compressor running and quite warm hot?
I can see a little of the evaporator coils through the back of the bottom of the freezer and there is maybe a quarter of an inch of ice on the coils.
is this normal? Should I put a hair dryer in the vent to "thaw" out the coils?
I'm trying to avoid hauling the thing back to the appliance store. any tips would be appreciated, thanks!

Check your operators manual to ensure it is not a finger poking problem.
If all OK
Put in a service call
They should come to your house to repair it
If not call Whirlpool directly

Do not take it apart!!!
This could void your warranty

would try what you suggested except i'm not sure what "finger poking" is;
can't find it in the manual. i thing the vent thing was sticking, i'll let you
know if it works now, (after it runs awhile). wonder if any plumbers know what finger poking is?
