My smooth top right small dual heating element wont turn off. Would it be the element itself or something else.

Tom Looking at the parts list I can't find a relay or contact that would turn burner on\off. This wouldn't be in the control\ potentiometer that is operated by the knob? I swapped the dual burner switch with the bridge element switch which is also a dual control but had the same result. The "live help" person said the problem was in the burner assembly itself; if so is there a relay/ switch at the burner? Thanks for your help! Johnny

If that is the case, it could very well be the elemet going to ground. Which is not a normal problem. Tom

Sure you can do it. Once you get the top up, you can easily figure it out. I believe if you open the door, and look up under top, there will be some screws to take out, and then you will be able to lift the top up. You also might have to slip it off the back hinge too. Tom
