we have had this maytag washer 2 years,and we have to replace the drain pump twice now.loose change has got in the bottom of drain and gets into the pump and breaks houseing.there is no way to get the money out.is there a filter or screen we can put in the hose to the pump?

Tim,

There is a filter in the unit, it's mounted on the outer tub assembly, under the spin basket You can access it , if you remove the inner spin basket and associated parts. At this point I wouldn't reccomend it,
