I was given a GE side by side no frost refrigerator freezer with ice maker in door ice maker not hooked up yet. ran good for about 2 weeks then heard loud noise. when moved out from wall had ice around lines to compressor with fan blades hitting ice. and temps in refer up. we ran hot water over lines and turned temp controls to 2 and A. ice reformed in 2-3 days. person who gave refer to me said they had gone on vacation & come home to ruined floors due to water. they thought it was from not puting pan under refer. can you give me idea what to look for?

Check if the fan inside the freezer works properly. What is the complete model number of the refrigerator?

Gene.
