Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 1/1/2009(UTC) Posts: 1		In March of 2008, my dishwasher stopped working. Factory service replaced the control panel and thermal fuse. This worked for 31 days. Factory service refused to come out again (1 day over the 30 day warranty!) without another $200 fee. I replaced the fuse myself, and did so 5 more times. The last two fuses blew on the first cycle, along with a burning smell. I took out the circuit board and found burning on the wires and on pins P9 and P4, along with the connector to P9. Kitchenaid claims that they have no record of this being a common complaint but a Google search proves this untrue. There are dozens, if not hundreds of similar complaints, including cases where the circuit board caught fire. Since Kitchenaid denies that problem is well known, I am hoping that someone on this forum can help. See photos in the attached PDF. Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 2/20/2010(UTC) Posts: 1		I think what is happening is that water gets to the fuse or another part and is shorting the fuse and the circut board. I just replaced my fuse and circutboard the third time after about 6 weeks. I found the ground had not been connected upon installation. This unit is 13 years old. The door handle switch is a source of water from wet hands possibly. Any other suggestions? I'll let you know if this repair lasts longer than a month. My first fix (after the warranty ran out) someone (likely the repair guy) had left the fuse dangling and it touched and shorted the board and the fuse $160board and $18 fuse.
