My apartment has a Gibson stove which appeared to be almost new when I moved in in May of 2004. Everythng worked fine. I did not use the oven all summer; just the stove top. The pilot light has gone out in the oven and I cannot seem to re-ignite it. Is there a trick? Can I light the gas manually with the oven turned low?
I cannot for the life of me find the model number. I've been all over the doors and door frames. It's a very basic four burner free-standing range with a broiler in the bottom and no window in the door. Your basic rental unit.
And now I'm off to try and cook cornbread in a crock pot.
Oh, and the oven is very clean; no grease or food on the bottom.

Raise the top like ou do when you clean under the burner area and see if there is a model number tag there.
