I have a Whirlpool Duet Sport ht washer. The machine is less than 2 years old. Last night, I started a “sanitize” cycle. In the middle of cycle, I stopped the cycle by pressing “pause/cancel” button. The machine drained water in the tub as it was very hot. The machine turned off by itself.
Then I tried restarting the machine by pressing “power” button. It seemed to be working. It let me select various cycles. I selected “normal” cycle and press-and-hold the “start” button. Instead of machine cycle started, the machine turned itself off. I tried this on other cycles and the results were the same.
The power cord was unplugged, waited for a while, plugged the power back on. And I retried the cycles. The same failure. Any tips to handle this?

Thanks,
Sunhyuk

Sunhyuk,

Did you notice any moisture or condensation on the display screen ?

Do you know if the door locked when starting the cycles ?

Did you not have a failure code in the display ?

Your answers will be a great help in determining which direction to take.

Thanks,
:) :) :)

We were washing a load of laundry, display said there was 1 min left. We pushed the pause/cancel button. Door unlocked and clicked off like cycle had ended. Next time we went to use it the power came on, selected a cycle, and pushed start, but the machine just beeped and went off. Tried unpluging machine, tried selecting a different cycle. Same result. Whirlpool sport duet front load washer. Purchased in 2009.

Cashover, Did you make sure you opened and closed the loading door before you started the second load. The control board has to see the door open between cycles. If you did open the door, then you'll need to check the wiring and circuits between the door latch assembly and CCU.
Thanks
