The top part of the freezer has warmed up but the bottom is still frozen. The refrigerator side is also warmer than it should be. Removal of evaporator panel shows coils frosted in top portion, but lower coils are frost free. During inspection, defrost heater came on and appeared to heat up nicely. The evaporator fan never runs, and I suspect that this is the issue. Can you suggest a diagnostic for me to run to verify this? Does it sound like the evap fan is the problem to you?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

An incomplete frost pattern on the evap coil can also indicate a partial blockage.

Yes it could be the evaporator fan.
When in cool mode check to see if the fan is getting power. Should be 115 volts AC. If it is getting power and not turning then replace it. |
