This has been a fantastic dishwasher but recently I'm led to believe the timer (mechanical) may have possibly packed up. When I start the dishwasher (knob set to normal, pushbutton normal, latch door) the pump kicks on but the tub won't fill. I can manually advance the knob to fill the tub but have to hold it in place until the float shuts it off. At this point the dishwasher will work as normal but I still have to manually advance the timer/setting knob otherwise the washer will run forever. The soap door won't open either but I suspect it is related to this problem. Water is hot and I suspect at the minimum 130 degrees but have not yet conclusively measured it. Am I right in assuming the timer? What other diagnostics should I be performing? Thanks in advance for all of the help.

Yes it sounds like the timer.
If you can hear the motor humming but it is not advancing then you need a new timer. Should be able to hear it in a dry cycle.
You could open it up and check the motor for continuity. Should be approximately 2500 ohms. If open you need a new timer.
Note this just checks the motor but it may be the timer gearing that is shot.
I would put the unit into a dry cycle then check the timer. If the timer motor is getting power but the timer not advancing you need a new timer.

Thanks for the confirmation. I'll run a dry cycle and see what happens. I suspect I'll be placing an order later today for the switch through APP. I'll let you know how it all shakes out.
