I have recently noticed that the digital clock on my range would start blinking as if the power had been interrupted. My microwave shares a circuit with the stove and has not had a blinking clock. While trying to ignite a burner on the stove top, I noticed that after the electronic igniter was on for 30 seconds or so the clock would start blinking again. I am able to duplicate this every time I leave the igniters on, usually within 30-45 seconds.
While trying to see if I could duplicate the clock blinking, I also have had the error code F3 appear on the screen several times, and also F1 has appeared twice. On one occasion the number "1" appeared on the screen with no other letters or numbers.
I have on one occasion(all controls including stove top were in the "off" position) had the oven turn on spontaneously, the display panel did not have either the "bake" or "broil" indicator lights lit at any time during this. I attempted to turn the oven off using the "clear" button, but was unable to shut the oven off, eventually I unplugged the unit from the wall to shut it off. I plugged it back in and this hasn't happened since.
I read the appliance fault codes for Tappan, and it says F1 is "Electronic oven control failure", and F3 is Open oven temperature sensor. I Replaced the oven temp sensor, and also tested both the original and the replacement part with an ohm meter both showed 1080 ohms at room temp.
All wiring and connectors appear to be in good condition with no damage to the casing of the wires, and no corrosion or damaged connectors were found.
I am wondering if the Electronic oven control is the cause of all this, or is there something else I should be Checking?
I apologize for being long winded, just wanted to be thorough on what has already been done. Thanks in advance for any help. -steve
