I am having problems with dishes in the top rack not getting clean. I have taken the float off and it was clean. I then removed the lower spray arm (it was clean) and then removed the impellers and other stuff down to the volute piece. It is all fairly clean. we have run vinegar through the machine several times too.

at the end of the wash cycle with starting with the pots and pans cycle it will have filled a cop in the top rack. The water level in the bottom appears to get a little higher the longer it runs. initial fill wasn't up to the bottom of the heating elements but later on it is.

I am thinking maybe the pump is weak??

thanks for any help!

Dave,

Does the unit drain properly ?

When you dismantled the pump and impellers, did you notice any damage(broken, chipped, missing) vanes ?

Were both sides of the diffuser vanes OK ?

It sounds more like a water level problem(the water level needs to at least contact the bottom of the element on the first fill(prefer to see the level 1/2 way up to coverring the element).

Based on your post, I would start at the fill valve, at this point.

So how does one get to the water fill valve? I cannot seem to figure out how to get the front bottom panel off.

Jeddave,

There are 2 methods (depending on your version of the machine).

a) Look at the top edge of the lower panel, near the frame,at the corners, if there are slots with tabs, you'll need to remove the 2 screws from the bottom of the panel, and lift up, and slide the panel off.

b) If you have 2 1/4" screws located in the same area, you will need to remove those screws, then the screws from the bottom of the panel, and slide the panel off.

You'll find the fill have located on the left front corner of the base assembly,

Either way, it'll be a little "tricky" but doable, with basic hand tools.

Good Luck,
:) :) :)
