We moved our freezer to the garage in order to put in a new floor. I moved it back 2 days later and turned it on. The compressor is running but does not freeze. Any ideas?

Look on the back wall of the freezer, and see if there is a frost build up. It would be close to the bottom. Also see if you hear the fan running in the freezer. Also check the condenser motor in the back next to the compressor, and be sure if the compressor is running, it should be too. Tom

Thanks for replying. This freezer doesn't have an internal fan. The compressor is definitely running, but not freezing.

If the compressor is running and there is no cooling on the evaporator coils, my guess is that when moving the unit you developed a leak in the sealed system and are now out of freon.
Check for hairline cracks in the sealed system |

We did briefly turn it on its side. Is there anything we can do to fix it if we have a restriction?

Often it you leave the unit upright and unplugged for 24 hours, it will run again. |
