Here are your parts
Replacement parts for MAYTAG MED5570TQ0 29`` ELECTRIC DRYER | AppliancePartsPros.com

If you have to wait several minutes before you can re-start the unit then it sounds like a motor problem. What is happening is that the motor is overheating and tripping it's internal thermal protect. You then have to wait till the motor cools down so the thermal protect can re-set before it will start again.

Try turning the drum in the correct direction by hand. It should turn fairly easily. If not then perhaps there is a problem with the drum mounting and it is overloading the motor. You may want to try this on a couple other dryers to get a feel for it.

Do you have heat when it does run?
If not it may be the centrifugal mechanism on the motor has a problem, either broken or dirty.
The motor has 2 centrifugal switches that close when the motor gets close to operating speed. One removes the motor's start winding from the circuit. If left on this will cause the motor to overheat. The other switches in the heating element. So if you have no heat then the centrifugal switches come to the top of the list.

Another outside possibility is that the blower is blowing hot air onto the motor due to a bad seal in the unit. Though usually this will take longer than a couple minutes.

Unfortunately the most common cause is that the motor is toast.
