Still Safe? -- GE Microwave works but no light or turntable

Hi everyone, I have a GE Microwave that works to heat food except there's no light and the turntable doesn't turn. I see threads on this already and suggestions to replace the motor, but I just want to confirm that even if I just leave the microwave as IS, it's still safe to use? I've heard about the result of un-evenly cooked food, but is it that serious? What if I take out the food in between and stir/rotate the bowl myself once or twice?
Thanks in advance for your help!! It'll really bring a peace of mind to know that the microwave is still safe to use. I'm not an expert so that's why I posted here, in case there's something I don't know about which might be potentially dangerous should I continue to use it.:(

Just to add, I can turn the turntable by hand, it just doesn't turn when the microwave turns on. Should I be worried about leaking harmful electric currents/waves.. etc?
