We have GE QuietPower2 Dishwasher (Model GLD5500L00WW) that is 4 years old. Last week, it stops washing. It runs but there is no water...the dishes are dirty; the jetdry tablet is intact; etc. I have checked the water line and it seems to be okay (i.e. no kinks, no blockage, etc.). Any suggestons? Thanks.

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for General Electric GLD5500L00WW Dishwasher | AppliancePartsPros.com

In the fill circuit for the unit you have 3 components, the fill valve, the flood switch and the timer.

First check that the flood float is not stuck in the up position. The flood switch (Item 308 in Section 2) should be actuated. If the float is stuck up then open up the assembly in the tub and check/clean it.

Check for 120 volts across the valve when the unit should be filling.

If you have voltage and it is not filling either the valve is toast or the screen filter on it's input side is clogged solid. Remove the valve from the unit and check/clean the filter. If the filter is clean replace the valve. If dirty clean it, do not permanently remove it as it is there to keep crud out of the valve which could hold it open and cause a flood.

If there is no voltage then check across the flood switch.
If there is 120 volts across it then it is not closing and probably need replacing. This can be double checked by removing power from the unit and checking the switch using ohms, should be 0 ohms.

If no voltage check across the valve and flood switch combo and then if there is no voltage there the timer is probably toast.
