I have a kenmore 90 series washer that stopped spinning and agitating. so i pulled the motor to check the coupler like everyone else to see if it was broken but its not. I can spin the transmission input shaft and it does not make anything spin nor does it feel like anything is grinding though either. Is it the transmission?

On some of these models a broken lid switch will stop it from agitating and spinning, so check that before doing anything else. It is probably not the problem, but let's be sure.

Then see if the motor is running when it is supposed to be spinning and agitating. If so, then problem may well be in the transmission.
