Hello and thanks to anyone who can answer this question. I have a Maytag Performa washing machine that began making a grinding noise during the spin cycle. After reading on here, we think it is the pump. My husband took the belt off and spun what we are assuming is the pump located toward the back of the machine. He said that there is a metal casing of some type that seems to be making the noise. So I am wondering if I can still use the machine till Monday when we can go get a part or does my laundry need to sit?

Thanks from a mom with loads of bedsheets to wash today! :)

I would not run it any more than you HAVE to!!!! If you HAVE to run it, use the shortest wash cycle possible!!!

I had the same exact situation with my machine two days ago. Let me know if that pump part worked and how you installed it. Anyone know where I can get a PDF version of a repair manual?
